Al Ain City
Al Ain is a fertile oasis city located approximately 160 kilometers east of Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE. Its name derives from its originally plentiful supply of fresh water, which makes its way underground across the city reaching the Omani mountains.
The current development of Al Ain uncovered antiquities which prove the existence of human communities in the city since 3,000 years BC. The Al Ain Museum displays artifacts of a village from the Iron Age discovered in Al Hili, items from ancient burial sites near Jebel Hafeet and other items unearthed in Qattara.
It is no coincidence that Al Ain was chosen as the site for the largest university in the UAE, The United Arab Emirates University, which currently enroll more than 15,000 male and female students from the different emirates of the country.

Al Ain boasts several features which are attractive to both tourists and residents. There are ten public gardens in Al Ain as well as Al Hili Fun City which was opened in 1985 and offers a wide variety of rides, play areas, a skating ring and many other entertainment shows organized on a seasonal basis.
